Hi, I'm Ananthapathmanabhan
Cloud & DevOps Engineer on GCP
I design, automate, and operate cloud platforms with a focus on Google Cloud, infrastructure as code, and reliability. I enjoy turning complex systems into predictable, observable, and developer-friendly platforms.
Currently building automation and monitoring solutions at Ericsson R&D.
I am a Cloud and DevOps Engineer with experience building GCP-based platforms, automation, and observability tooling. I enjoy working close to both infrastructure and application teams, helping them ship safely and confidently.
My background spans full-stack engineering, site reliability work, and research. That mix helps me understand how decisions at the infrastructure level affect developer experience, system behaviour, and end users.
A mix of SRE, cloud, and full-stack experience that led me towards platform and cloud engineering.
- Build automation and infrastructure for a Google Cloud–based Network-as-a-Service platform.
- Develop backend services in Go and Python, focusing on reliability and reduced operational toil.
- Use Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD to deliver repeatable environments.
- Implement monitoring, alerting, and dashboards using GCP Monitoring and Grafana.
- Built production web interfaces using React and Next.js.
- Worked with APIs, state management, and performance tuning.
- Collaborated with backend and DevOps teams, which triggered my interest in cloud and platform work.
A selection of recent projects focused on GCP, automation, reliability, and software development. More details available on request.
- Automated provisioning of SLIs, SLOs, and alert policies for new services using Terraform modules.
- Integrated metrics into Grafana dashboards with event-driven notifications, improving fault detection.
- Reduced manual setup by standardising monitoring across GCP projects.
- Built microservices to orchestrate infrastructure workflows and cross-system integrations.
- Implemented structured logging, health checks, and CI/CD pipelines for safe rollouts.
- Developed a system to separate land properties using maps and automated boundary detection.
- Applied image processing techniques for accurate land segmentation.
- Implemented a Minimax-based game agent with alpha-beta pruning and configurable difficulty levels.
- Built test harnesses and instrumentation to validate correctness and performance.
- Developed and deployed Google Actions: "Science Bro" (English) and "मुद्रा खोज" (Hindi).
- Integrated natural language processing for conversational interactions.
- Successfully published on Google Assistant platform.
- Created 2D platformer game "Dashing Rider" with Unity.
- Developed 3D obstacle course game with physics-based mechanics.
- Implemented game mechanics, UI, and player progression systems.

- Publication: Blending Participatory Design and Artificial Awareness for Trustworthy Autonomous Vehicles – Accepted at IEEE RO-MAN 2025
- Developed behavioural models using Markov chains to analyse driver interaction, trust, and transparency in semi-autonomous systems
- Focus on human-AI interaction, autonomous systems, and data-driven modelling
